WHY WE STUDY GOD’S WORD
(Scriptural Reasons)
Romans 12:2, 3 2 Don't be like the people of this world, but let GOD change the way you think. Then you will know how to do everything that is good and pleasing to him. 3 Because of the kindness that GOD has shown me, I ask you not to think of yourselves more highly than you should. Instead, your thoughts should lead you to use good judgment based on what GOD has provided each of you as believers with. MTFV (The Apostle Paul, circa 51-55 CE)
Romans 12:2, 3 2. “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, in order to prove by you what is that good and pleasing and perfect will of God. 3. I realize how kind God has been to me, and so I tell each of you not to think you are better than you really are. Use good sense and measure yourself by the amount of faith that God has given you”. MKJV, CEV (The Apostle Paul, circa 51-55 CE)
BIBLE STUDY IS FOR BUILDING FAITH
Hebrews 11:1 What is faith? It is the confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen, based on evidence of things we cannot yet see. MTFV
Hebrews 11:1 “Only faith can guarantee the blessings that we hope for, or prove the existence of realities that are unseen”. NJB
Romans 10:17 So faith comes by hearing what is told, and what is heard comes by the preaching of the message that came from the lips of Christ (the Messiah Himself). MTFV
Romans 10:17 “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God”. NKJ
Hebrews 11:3 It is by this same faith that we understand that the universe was created by God's word, so that what can be seen was made out of what cannot be seen. MTFV
Hebrews 11:3 “By faith we understand that the worlds [during the successive ages] were framed (fashioned, put in order, and equipped for their intended purpose) by the word of God, so that what we see was not made out of things which are visible”. AMP
Hebrews 11:6 Without faith no one can please GOD. We must believe that he is real and that he rewards everyone who earnestly seeks him. MTFV
Hebrews 11:6 “But without faith it is impossible to please God; for he that comes to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of those that diligently seek him”. JUB
