Lesson 59. (formerly 34.)
In a new series comparing
“BIBLE TEACHINGS and MANMADE DOGMATIC RELIGIOUS DOCTRINES”
This lesson will discuss the subject;
WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE?
INTRODUCTION
The actual meanings we apply to scripture are critical to how we understand the mind of YHWH, the creator. As a way of helping us toward accurately understanding teachings as they were intended by the original writers, this section will compare what the bible actually teaches with thirty plus doctrines promoted by religionists who claim to use the bible as the authority for their dogmatic doctrines.
This is an exercise by which you may test your current understanding of important bible concepts and what you have been taught previously with what the bible itself actually teaches. It is suggested that you consult accurate word meanings from Bible dictionaries as collected in the preceding lessons as you consider the material.
The object is “accurate knowledge” of YHWH God and his son Jesus Christ and understanding the impact such knowledge may have on the lives of ourselves and our loved ones.
SCRIPTURAL REASON behind THIS EXERCISE
(From three Bible versions)

Colossians 1:9 That is also why we, from the day we heard [of it], have not ceased praying for YOU and asking that YOU may be filled with the accurate knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual comprehension. NWT
Colossians 1:9 For this reason we also, from the day we heard of it, have not ceased to pray and make [special] request for you, [asking] that you may be filled with the full (deep and clear) knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom [in comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God] and in understanding and discernment of spiritual things— AMP
Colossians 1:9 Because of this, we also, from the day in which we heard, do not cease praying or you, and asking that ye may be filled with the full knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, YLT

CONCLUSION
In any examination of the differences between Bible teachings and man-made religious dogmatic doctrines certain Bible principals should not be overlooked.
1. All Scripture is inspired of God (2 Timothy 3:16). “Every Scripture passage is inspired by God. All of them are useful for teaching, pointing out errors, correcting people, and training them for a life that has God's approval“. GW
This does not say all bibles are inspired of God. While it’s true that all Bibles contain inspired scripture, they also contain doctrines and traditions of men who have attempted to translate the words and thoughts of the original inspired writers. Sometimes pre- existing manmade doctrinal biases have crept into their translations. In these instances it becomes important to detect aberrations as they can distort God’s word.
2. God cannot lie (Titus 1:2). “on hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised before the eternal times,” MKJV
For a God who is by his very nature a God of truth and who cannot lie, discrepancy and conflict in his own word is implausible. When a verse appears to conflict with other verses it should signal the possibility of our own misunderstanding in connection with it.
3. Trust belongs to YHWH God exclusively (Proverbs 3:5”) Trust wholeheartedly in Yahweh, put no faith in your own perception;(Jeremiah 17:50) “Yahweh says this, 'Accursed be anyone who trusts in human beings, who relies on human strength and whose heart turns from Yahweh. NJB
While men tend to trust in themselves and other men, that is not God’s will. Scripture discloses that trust is a commodity which only YHWH God and his son Jesus Christ are deserving of.
4. Scripture gives Guidance and Direction (Psalms 119:105). “Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path” (Psalms 119:105). The Bible shines a light on our path so we know which way to go. However, the light shines only so far in front of us. As we walk forward, it shines further out. We must walk in the light we have before we receive additional light.
God’s word is a reliable source for us being able to determine what is best for ourselves and the environment containing all living things around us. As such it becomes a manual of operating instructions for conducting our lives in ways beneficial to all of God’s creation.
Therefore, the Bible and what it actually says should be what we are interested in if we want to be in harmony with the creator and his creation. By comparing the religious doctrines we have been taught with accurate scripture it will be enable us to know the ‘truth’ and the truth will set us free from manmade dogmatic religious doctrines which are out of harmony with God’s word and his will.
